My Services

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and I offer one-to-one therapy sessions to people of all ages.

The style of therapy used in sessions would be dependant upon age, need and ability, for example the use of therapeutic play in sessions with young people.

I am also a Clinical Supervisor for both trainee and qualified Counsellors, personally, I have extensive experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma.

Therapy often gives us a dedicated time to focus on our own wants and needs.

Make that time for yourself.

Face to Face sessions take place in a Cosy Space by Dalton Square in Lancaster, close to local bus routes and ample parking opportunities close by.

Online sessions are also available.

Time to Focus on You

Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions are one hour long at a frequency decided between ourselves, although weekly sessions are recommended.

Professional Expertise That Comes From You!

A Little Bit

About Me

.

Hi, I’m Amy,

I am qualified to Level 7 Graduating with an Ma in Counselling and Psychotherpy. My practice is grounded in Person-Centred Theory and it is rooted in working in a Trauma-Informed manner.

Since graduating, I have gone on to complete a number of training courses and have achieved a Level 7 Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

I am confident in working with clients of all ages, particularly those who are experiencing symptoms of Anxiety and Depression, Addiction, Eating Disorders, Bereavement and Loss, and Domestic and Sexual abuse.

Alongside my private practice, I am fortunate to work Freelance for a number of organisations who do the most fantastic work with some of the most vulnerable client groups. My experience Counselling within a residential rehabilitation centre for addiction, aswell as working with a number of clients within the Local Prison has given me vast knowledge and experience in working in a Trauma-Informed way. Counselling within school settings with children aged between 4-16 has given me insight into how Children and young people perceive the world. Not to mention my own personal experiences and navigating the challenges life throws at us.

Supervision

As a Supervisor, I can offer you a space to confidentially discuss your practice, together we can navigate any ideas for future client work and we can discuss any areas for development, toegther we can work through any challenges you may face in your practice, in a safe, open space. I believe that the relationship between a Supervisor and Supervisee is invaluable to the Counsellor and their well-being, particularly as it is often a long standing professional relationship. Which is why I believe supervisees should take their time when finding the right Supervisor, If you’d like to have a chat please get in touch.

As per the guidelines set my own governing body, The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Supervisees are required to complete :

“A minimum of 1.5 hours per calendar month regardless of number of contracted clients.

Can be a mix of one to one, peer, telephone and online, as all these count for accreditation”

To read more about the BACPs requirements, please see the link below https://www.bacp.co.uk/membership/supervision/
